About the shot

Someone wise once said that to live you need to have a hobby. And someone else says that it is best to choose from what you experienced as a child.

So I was lucky in this, I had something to build on. So I was lucky in this, I had something to build on. And I started as I remembered from my childhood. To find out immediately that everything is completely different and the old methods work poorly. It absorbed me for a long time and I became an avid fisherman. And then only to Danube fishermen. That’s how the years went by, I caught often, from the shore, from a boat, in summer and in winter. More than the catching itself, it was the joy of being outside. Only once did I get the feeling that I had to take pictures. And so I started again from childhood beginnings. And everything was different. I still managed to get my father’s film ZEISS, later I switched to digital SLR cameras and here the advantages of digital technology won me over. I could boldly start experimenting as a self-taught person. With photography, I tried to capture a world different from what we normally see. Gradually, I was able to dive deeper into photography. For me, it’s a completely different timeline than the one we normally navigate at work, at home, in the flow of our daily routine.

For years I fished and took photos along the way. Today, the ratio is the opposite, I take more photos than I catch. Friends from the shore sometimes look for me, sometimes show their catches. And in return I show them freshly caught abstracts. 😊

However, it only occurred to me recently, I haven’t changed that much. I just substituted a shot for a shot.
